Ozotic Multi-Chrome

Hey ladies! I recently purchased this nail polish and received it in the mail the other night…IT IS GORGE!! This probably one of the most unique colors I’ve seen (EVER)! Because you can’t really appreciate the color without exposing it in various lighting (and because I haven’t had the time to swatch it yet), I am posting a Youtube video from one of my favorite nail bloggers, PSHIIIT, so that you can see what it looks like. Although her posts are only written in french, her swatches are amazing and speak much louder than words…Enjoy:

If you are interested in looking for this or similar polishes, I purchased the Ozotic Multi-Chrome 506 polish here (Sidenote: the shipping was super quick!)…506 is very similar to 505…

Talk to you all soon! XOXO

Shopaholics I Met and Liked…

Since I love to write, I am always on the prowl for new journals. I was flipping through my Lucky Magazine the other day when I came across these adorable journals. They are available in an array of colors, sizes and quotations. The ones that caught my eye were quoted, “Shopaholics I Met and Liked” and “Fashionistas I Met and Liked.” I think these journals are gorge and once I received them in the mail yesterday,  I had to make them a part of the decor on my bookshelf:

Initially, I found these journals on http://www.jasperandblack.com, but I actually purchased them two from Amazon for $10 each. If you actually want to write in these journals (LOL), they’re ideal for jotting down notes.  The pages are blank and the journals are small enough to toss into your handbag or tote if you want something to write in with while you’re out and about. I’m positive that I will end up writing in these babies eventually…

Here are some additional pictures of the journals from the Jasper and Black site:

Glitter in the Air

I’ve been slowly, but surely collecting some of the accessories off of my lust list that I published a few months ago here. Glitter in the Air by Deborah Lippmann had been sold out for months. When I tried to find it in the fall I was told that it was a Spring nail polish that was sold out and wasn’t going to be restocked. FALSE! I was in Columbia Mall (Maryland), actually trying to get to the Mac counter in Nordstrom, but since it was so crowded I decided to take a look at the polishes while I waited. And there it was!! There were only two left, and I snatched one of those bottles up with the quickness!

While I was excited about finally getting my hands on this polish, I was a little disappointed that it isn’t very opaque. You will have to apply about three to four coats in order to achieve the look you see in the bottle. However, there is a simple solution to that problem…just use this as a top coat and use a similar color for the base.

I absolutely love this color!! It makes me want to eat cupcakes! Here are some swatches:

3 coats of DL Glitter in the Air and no base color

2 coats of Essie's Turquoise & Caicos/ 1 coat of DL Glitter in the Air on top

This nail polish retails for $18 so if you want to save some money, and you have the patience to search for it, there is a dupe! Revlon’s Whimsical looks pretty identical (which you can purchase here) and I would have purchased that one if I had known about it prior to purchasing this one! Either way, I am satisfied…Loves it!!

As always, happy shopping! XOXO

Review: Michael Kors Grayson Satchel

My sister (Hey Kerri!) came by my house last night and I was obsessing over her Michael Kors Grayson (large) satchel she recently received for Christmas when I noticed that there was something on it…I thought she had gotten something on the bag and that it just needed to be wiped off. To my surprise the patent leather coating on the satchel was coming off on both sides of the handbag! She has literally been carrying this satchel for two weeks and is quite disappointed in the quality of the bag.

We both are huge Michael Kors fans, but this is ridiculous…See it for yourself:

(Click on the images to enlarge them)

I took a look at the reviews on this bag on www.Nordstrom.com and a number of customers have had a similar experience after only carrying the handbag a few times. So just be aware of the fact that the coating on this particular handbag is not durable or longlasting. I suggested to my sister that she take it back to Nordstrom and get a totally different bag because this is absurd!

I hope this post is helpful to you as you shop for handbags…Smooches!! XOXO

Organized Beauty: Make-Up

Having an abundance of make-up can easily get disorganized. Since I am on a mission to begin my year off right, I thought I would show how I am furthering my organization. Here is what the majority of my make-up looked like before I organized it into two drawers:

BEFORE ( A Mess!)

AFTER (Still a mess, but an improvement...Lol)

AFTER

Now I could probably organize these further, but honestly, I don’t care that much about make-up to do anything more with it…Lol…This is as good as it gets! I had to stack some things on top of each other mainly because I refuse to let my make-up go beyond these two drawers. As you can see, lip products and eye shadows are my weaknesses!

Here are some clear storage trays that you may find useful in organizing your own make-up collections (from the Container Store):

My Habit

A co-worker of mine (Hey Brad!) recently told me about Amazon’s new private fashion website, www.MyHabit.com. Basically, it is a site where you can access designer clothing, accessories, beauty products and home goods for a discounted price (about 60% off). I’ve seen designers such as Michael Kors, Just Cavalli, Rebecca Minkoff, Love Moschino, and many others featured on the site so far.

Each sales event begins at 9am PT/12pm ET and lasts for 3 days. As you can image, the items sell out pretty quickly so if you even think you may be interested in purchasing an item, you must add it to your cart immediately! Then you will have a couple of minutes to purchase the item or it will be released to be purchased by another (possibly waitlisted) customer. It really reminds me of buying concert tickets! Lol…So intense!

If you already have an Amazon account, you can log in with the same email and password, and any credit information you have stored on your Amazon account can be accessed on MyHabit as well. The shipping and return shipping is free for U.S. customers, and you should receive your item(s) within 4 business days.

MyHabit is quite similar to Gilt Group and Haute Look, but because I am huge fan of Amazon I had to dedicate a post to them!

Lastly, I scored these Michael Kors Ludlow Sunglasses for $60 (retailed at $135) the other day, which I should receive by tomorrow…Loves it!:

Happy Shopping! XOXO

Organized Beauty: Nail Polish

My entire nail polish collection...OMG...Don't Judge Me!

It’s the a new year and a new beginning! It’s time to get organized!! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to store my make-up and nail polishes because they seem to be all over the place! All over the bathroom counters, my dresser, every freakin’ where!

A few weeks ago I was out with my girlfriend, Manda (Hey Mandy!) and we found these nail polish racks in the Container Store. They were only $5.99 each and I thought that was a great price. However, there is a drawback! Not all types of polishes fit into these racks. Here’s a list of polishes that I know can fit:

  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear
  • Misa
  • Color Club
  • Ulta
  • Essie
  • Deborah Lippmann
  • Milani
  • Love and Beauty (Forever 21)
  • Sally Hansen Hard As Nails
  • Nails Inc.
  • NailTek

While I will still need to purchase a wall rack for the rest of my polishes (i.e. China Glaze, OPI, Sephora by OPI, Revlon, Finger Paints, Orly, etc.), which I plan to install in my bathroom, I think these racks are awesome! They can easily be used to add some flavor to your decor, or can simply be stored on your dresser or countertop to keep everything organized. Here is how I display mine on my mantel:

You can purchase these racks here.

As for the rest of my polishes I have them stored in a plastic bin in my bathroom along with my other manicure essentials:

I hope this gives you some ideas regarding how to get organized. In one of my upcoming posts I will discuss how I organized my make-up within the same storage bin. Talk to you all soon! Smooches! XOXO

Easel-Y Entertained

I stumbled upon this color not too long ago in Sally’s Beauty Supply, and decided to try Finger Paints for the first time. I really do love this color, but honestly, Easel-Y Entertained is one of those colors that looks phenomenal in bright lights and dull in regular/natural lighting…

It’s a gorgeous dark purple with bright flexes of glitter in it…I do love it, but not particularly for my skin tone. I keep trying variations of purple, but for some reason I just don’t love purple polishes on me…I think now I will finally stop trying…Lol…Perhaps those of you who like and can rock dark manis will love this, but I def don’t think this color will make it in to my collection. What do you think?
