My Fall Handbag: DVF Drew Patchwork Satchel

When looking for a handbag for my birthday recently, I was contemplating whether or not I should splurge on the Alexander Wang Rocco bag. After much consideration I decided not to buy it. One reason why I refrained was because it is bloody expensive (in my Rebecca Bloomwood voice…if you have not read Sophie Kinsella’s Confessions of a Shopaholic get off my blog right now!)! Anywhoo, the handbag retails for $875. With tax that is quite close to $1000…I just couldn’t wrap my head around spending that much money on a handbag right now. But let me be clear, do not be surprised if it eventually makes an appearance here on Clutchez a year or two from now! I’m just saying…

I was also considering several Tory Burch satchels until I saw a complaint on about how the piping on the straps was coming aloose. Sheesh! So I kept looking and was considering a Diane Von Furstenburg bag one of my friends purchased recently (hey Tameka!). And when it went on sale on I had to get it.

While I love fashion, I really hate to pay full price for anything! I always try to wait for things to go on sale especially if they cost a pretty penny! The DVF Drew Satchel Patchwork retails for $545, but was on sale for 30% off when I purchased it. It’s available here if you are interested in puchasing as well.

Here are 5 reasons why I love this satchel:

  1. It is huge! I can fit my books/journal as well as my ipad in it.
  2. It is effortlessly color blocked already. I love the various patterns and colors on the bag. The blue handles really makes the bag noticeably unique. The various textures and colors make this handbag versatile and it goes with everything!
  3. It is very structured. I love that it maintains its shape when you sit it down on a desk or table.
  4. It can be carried in the nook of my arm or carried as a shoulder bag.
  5. It is a classic handbag that is both trendy and timeless.

I hope you all enjoyed this post! XOXO

I Got The Blues

So I was in Ulta the other day, and I stumbled upon this Sally Hansen nail polish that I have been searching for forever! Now you all know I love my blue nail polish, and this one…well, it’s just no different. And for $2.59 I went ahead and bought two of them thank you very much!

Pacific Blue initially reminded me of Baker Street (see post here) from Nails Inc. Though it isn’t as bright, it is just as creamy and looks great on! The formula was very smooth and easy to apply. It is opaque in one coat, but for the sake of long lasting wear I would suggest applying two coats.

As for the color on my ring finger, that baby is Revlon’s Coastal Surf. While is was $7.99 in Ulta, I grabbed it out of Walmart for a whopping $4.97. Don’t mind if I do! This one is also an easy to apply cream color. I was so excited about these colors I had to try them on together somehow. Check out the swatches below:

How gorge are these blues?! I do apologize for the short nail on my index finger…of course it broke the other day. I hate it when my nails break on my left hand, the hand I use for all my swatches! Lol…Anyway, I hope you all enjoy these blues. I will talk to you all soon. Smooches! XOXO

Rebecca Minkoff SS13 Runway Show

Did any of you catch Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring/Summer 2013 Runway Show last week? I watched the live stream online (I think she is totally awesome for allowing people to watch online) and loved every second of it!!!

All of the prints and the ombre clothing…And you know I was stalking all of the handbags! I was also feeling the mint green eyeshadow and mint green nails each of the models was wearing. Check the video out for yourself below:

I loved all of the handbags from the big envelope clutches to the satchels to the cross body bags. I also loved the denim patchwork jeans and jean shorts. Look 26, the African American woman with the black and grey top, and black, white and grey pants, was my favorite!!. Loved it from head to toe. And who doesn’t love a chic classic white blouse? I see she had a lot of those as well.

Wasn’t that awesome? I have to find a way to get my hine pots to fashion week next year. I refuse to be left out anymore! Loves it!!!

My Bella Collection

My fav piece from My Bella…

You all need some My Bella Collection in your life! One of my besties (Manda) first began making beaded bracelets, and now has launched into making customized body accessories. Her slaves bracelets and shoulder harnesses are def my favorite, but all of her pieces are unique and can add a bit of edge to your accessory closet. Check out some of her pieces below:

Clockwise: Honesty Bracelets ($20), Flowing Shoulder Harness ($35), Beaded Bracelets ($30 for set), Shoulder Harness ($35).

Another thing that I love about My Bella is that you can have your pieces customized. Anything sold on the website can be altered to fit you perfectly. The bracelets are typically made to fit a 6″ to 7.5″ wrist.

You can see other pieces like the leg harness, various slave bracelets and body chains on Manda’s website: You can email her your orders at or on the contact page on her website here.

I hope you enjoyed this post…Talk to you all soon! XOXO

Fall Inspiration

Lately, I have been turning to Pinterest for style inspiration. One of my boards, Clothes and Clutchez, consists of hundreds of pictures that serve as my virtual stylist. With all the faux leather pants and structured blazer looks,  I am super excited about gearing up my wardrobe for Fall. While I have subconsciously gravitated towards a lot of black, I know that I will need some pops of color as well. Check out some of the most inspirational looks I’ve found on Pinterest below:

20120909-085111.jpgI plan to rock a very similar look for a date night or girl’s night out with my friends. I like this because it is classic and yet has a bit of edge. Although I doubt that I would ever wear a white handbag or those shoes, the blazer and leather pants would be the perfect look for me.

This vest and handbag really makes this outfit. The ruffled shoulders as well as the orange stripe going down the right of side of the vest is EVERYTHING! And the Celine handbag…quite frankly, is amazing!!!

First, this Philip Lim satchel is to die for (sorry, but you all know I am obsessed with handbags)…I love this look because it is, like the first one, very classy but has some edge to it. The embroidered peplum blouse and yellow jacket  are super girly, which softens the edge of all the black leather.

This motorcycle jacket along with the red clutch is hot. I am not wild about these particular leather pants (I think I would be a bit too hippy for these), but I could def see myself rocking the heck out of the jacket and clutch. And did you notice the nails? Yup…I peeped that. Loves it!

This is a look I could wear any day of the week. It is a super laid back look but could pass for being dressed up if you throw on some high heel boots.

Sidenote: I don’t know what kind of handbag this is in the picture, but I need to find out! Studded embellishments are my new favorite thing on accessories at the moment…I’m just saying…

Do I even need to say why I like this outfit? Nope. I think it speaks for itself.

Last but certainly not least in my book, how cute is this outfit?! That trench! Not sure that I would rock the skirt, but the blouse and trench are right up my alley. And is that another Celine handbag? Sure is! I am also loving the gold accessories and super dark sunnies.

I hope you all like these looks, but if you don’t there are thousands of inspirational images online if you need a little something to help you with your wardrobe. Yesterday, while I was reading the latest issue of Lucky Magazine (October), I stumbled upon an article about finding your personal style.

The first step was gathering pictures of things you love, things that actually inspire you. I encourage you all to do that. And in the process of finding your style, pick up and try on some things that you ordinarily wouldn’t. According to Lucky, “You’ll never know if something suits you unless you put it on.”

Hope you all enjoyed this post…now I have to get back to my thesis! I had said I wasn’t going to post anything until I was finished it, but who am I kidding?! I am addicted to blogging…Lol…Talk to you all soon! XOXO
