Beauty Obsessions

DSCN0154

Raise your hand if you beat your face even when you are going to be sitting in the house. Don’t be ashamed!! I do it all the time. There is nothing like thick brows, an even face, voluminous lashes, and a bangin’ lipstick no matter what you may have going on. Even if your outfit isn’t completely there, as long as your face and hair (and nails) are decent, no one can tell you anything! At least that’s how I feel about it!

Here are some of my beauty obsessions that I use practically on a daily basis:

  1. Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation (Shade 11.0)
  2. Mac’s Rebel Lipstick
  3. Make Up Forever’s Smoky Lash Mascara
  4. Mac’s Prolong Wear Concealer (NW40)
  5. Mac’s Mineralized Skin Finish (Deep Dark)
  6. Wet’n Wild’s Red Velvet Lipstick (910D)
  7. Fresh’s Sugar Lip Treatment (Clear)
  8. Mac’s Eyebrow Pencil (Spiked)
  9. Sigma’s Flat Kabuki Brush
  10. Loreal’s Voluminous Fiber Mascara

In case you wanted to know what the lipsticks look like, here are some swatches of each:

DSCN0168

Although I love natural looking make up, I often get bored with nude lips. These two lipsticks really make my look pop. No matter what your skin tone is, trust that you will like both…At the very least, try the Wet’N Wild one, which is only $2 in CVS. You can’t beat that!

I hope you all enjoyed this post and if you have any questions about the products mentioned, please feel free to ask! xx…Kel

Fuchsia Lips…

I am totally on the fuchsia lips kick right now! Check out the swatches below:

20120411-174614.jpg

  1. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Fuchsia Fever (lined with Mac’s lip liner in Currant) – This is a pale pink that I could wear with or without a lip liner. Its soooo creamy and just glides on your lips. I would definitely recommend these color sensational lipsticks if you are looking to try color but don’t want to spend too much money (about $6).
  2. Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick in Plaza – This lipstick is amazing! Because I like color but don’t always want to call too much attention to my lips, this one is perfect for those days that I want to be a little more subtle. It is pigmented, but you will have to build the color up to make it more opaque. Its very moisturizing and glides on very smoothly. It also stains your lips a bit ($30).
  3. Cover Girl Lipstick in Spellbound – This lipstick is so incredibly opaque! It’s a gorgeous fuchsia, very similar to Mac’s Girl About Town but is much more moisturzing (about $6).
  4. Mac Lipstick in Pink Nouveau (lined with Mac’s lip liner in Vino) – This a VERY pale pink and I always have to tone it down with a lip liner or I will look like I have pink paste on my lips! It requires some work and is a little drying (about $15).

Out of all of these colors, I always reach for the Maybelline and the Dior lipsticks. If I had recommend one, I would def recommend the Maybelline Colorsensational lipsticks for their variety of color and the price. You would def get more bang for your buck!

I hope you all enjoy this post and I will talk to you all soon! Muah! XOXO…

New Beauties

I went to the mall the other day with my Mom and picked up a few beauty items. I’ve been obsessing over Dior’s new Addict Extreme lipsticks every since I saw them on Huda’s blog not too long ago. I purchased Plaza, which is a  creamy pink that felt so smooth and moisturizing on my lips when I tried it on. What I hate about regular lipsticks is that the colors are often too much. Plaza is gorge and is buildable. You can pack more on if you want more color, but it isn’t overwhelming. Loves it!

I tried on Lucky (a subtle red) as well and I will probably purchase that one later. I had to have Plaza ASAP! Lol…I also purchased the Dior Show Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum since I’ve heard that it is good for priming and conditioning your lashes.

20120325-162454.jpg

From Sephora I purchased the Benefit They’re Real Mascara (which I have heard great things about) along with a Chloe fragrance (rollerball). Because I already have a lot of perfume, spending $110 on a regularly sized Chloe perfume was neither logical nor a priority at the moment. But the fragrance is amazing! If you haven’t smelled it, please run to Sephora or Nordstrom and try it out.

I can’t really offer a review on any of these products yet, but as I get the opportunities to use them, I will report back to you all.

I hope everyone has a blessed day!!! Muah! XOXO

Organized Beauty: Make-Up

Having an abundance of make-up can easily get disorganized. Since I am on a mission to begin my year off right, I thought I would show how I am furthering my organization. Here is what the majority of my make-up looked like before I organized it into two drawers:

BEFORE ( A Mess!)

AFTER (Still a mess, but an improvement...Lol)

AFTER

Now I could probably organize these further, but honestly, I don’t care that much about make-up to do anything more with it…Lol…This is as good as it gets! I had to stack some things on top of each other mainly because I refuse to let my make-up go beyond these two drawers. As you can see, lip products and eye shadows are my weaknesses!

Here are some clear storage trays that you may find useful in organizing your own make-up collections (from the Container Store):

Happy Organizing!! XOXO

UD 15-Year Anniversary Palette

Many bloggers and Youtubers have been raving about Urban Decay’s Naked Palette. However, UD recently released their fall collection, which includes the 15 Year Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette that just might trump the Naked Palette everyone has been so obsessed with. This palette includes a range of shadows from bright, deep, pigmented colors to neutral, bronze tones…Perfect for those of you who are a bit more bold and daring when it comes to eye makeup. It is more veratile than the Naked Palette, which was meant for a more natural look, and it’s going for about $55. Check it out below:

You can pick this up on UD’s website: http://www.urbandecay.com/15-year-anniversary-eyeshadow-collection/308,default,pd.html

15 Bare Accessory Essentials!!

The following are items that every woman must have in her accessory closet. I actually tried come up with a list of ten must have accessories, but I felt like I was leaving out some vital pieces. You don’t have to buy all these items at once…these are pieces that you can add to your wardrobe over time. However, if you stumble upon some bargains on items you don’t own, then seize the moment…carpe diem!! Of course you can own more than one of each, but if you’re starting from scratch, here is a list of the my Bare Accessory Essentials:

  1. Everyday Handbag
  2. A Pair of Chic Sunglasses
  3. A Pair of Fabulous Earrings
  4. An Eye Catching Scarf
  5. Nail Polish (If you aren’t into painting your nails, that’s okay!)
  6. A Pair of Flat Shoes
  7. A Clutch
  8. A Pair of Stud Earrings
  9. A Timepiece
  10. A Statement Necklace
  11. A Pair of High Heel Shoes (Sandals/Pumps/Peep Toe)
  12. A Cocktail Ring
  13. A Belt
  14. A Pair of Winter Boots
  15. A Bracelet/Bangle

Bonus Essential: Make-Up – Your face doesn’t have to be totally made up on a daily basis, but at least groom your eyebrows and throw on some chapstick or lip gloss! Also make sure that your skin is clear and moisturize…it makes a huge difference!

Final Note: Be sure not to fill your closet with a bunch of expensive, trendy junk…you want the majority of the things in your accessory closet to be items that you can mix-n-match and recreate as time goes on. Obviously, not everything in your closet will last a life time, but you will want these items to at least last you a couple of seasons.

Happy Shopping!! Muah!! XOXO

A Pop of Color: PINK!!

Pink is no longer exclusively for the prim and prissy! As we are quickly approaching summer, I thought I would do a post on all things pink! I actually don’t wear a lot of pink clothing, but I love pink accessories. Here are some miscellaneous pink things I want to add to my collection for summer…check it out and tell me what you think!

Marc Jacobs Iphone Cover, $28 / Juicy Couture Ipad Cover, $48

NARS Nail Polish, $16 / Make Up Forever Lab Shine, $18 / Michael Kors Chronograph, $160

Beach Sexy Victoria's Secret Swim Suit, $40

Marc Jacobs Crossbody Handbag, $525

Now if you are not a fan of the color pink, you can add a different pop of color. Let me also say that wearing all this pink together will definitely be overdoing it! However, feel free to pick and choose various items to add to your summer accessories. I just think a pop of color not only helps brighten your look, but it also helps brighten your mood. Happy Shopping!!

Style Icon Alert!! Meagan Good

I have followed Meagan Good’s style since she was on the Disney Channel some years back. She has grown up to be a gorgeous and talented young woman and she has the cutest style! She is normally so laid back in the way she dresses, but she always adds certain elements or pieces that make her look pop. She also does not shy away from working her favorite pieces again and again.

Her make-up is always on point. I don’t know what make-up artist is beating her face, but they are doing a great job! Her hair is also always done to perfection. It looks like she has done away with the long tresses for a more updated and edgy short cut. I love both looks on her!

Some of her signature pieces are black tights, denim shorts, black leather jackets, high heel sandals or over the knee boots, pink, red or neutral colored nails and/or lip stick. She rocks color occasionally, but she seems to have a lot of black in her wardrobe. Her earrings are always eye catching as well.

Check out some of my favorite looks of her:

MARCH BEAUTY HAUL!!

You can simply click on the image to enlarge it.

I thought it would be nice to do a haul of some of the beauty products I’ve purchased over the past couple of weeks. I am always watching tutorials and beauty hauls on Youtube and I find some of them quite useful. It’s interesting to see what products people are enjoying. Here are some of my most recent purchases:

  • Pond’s Cold Cream – I use the Pond’s Cold Cream as a cleanser for my face and follow-up with Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes. Both are good for cleansing as well as make-up removal. I also use Pond’s Dry Skin Cream to moisturize my face. ($9 for 9.5 Oz. in CVS)
  • Nail Polishes – As some of you may have noticed, nail polish is my newest obsession! I’ve purchased just a few that I’d like to tell you about.
  1. Re-Fresh Mint by China Glaze – This color makes me want to go get a cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream! It’s a cream color with a very light green tint. If you are looking for an even cheaper version of this color, Sallie Hansen has it in Mint Sorbet. ($5, Sally’s Beauty Supply)
  2. Gunmetal (310) by Sally Hansen (Xtreme Wear) – This color is a frosty dark grey that makes me feel a little dark and edgy and yet feminine and sophisticated. ($2, Target)
  3. Blue Me Away (04) by Sally Hansen (Xtreme Wear) – This color reminds me of blue tropical skittles! It’s comparable to Sephora’s “Slushied” from the Glee Collection, but much cheaper. ($2, Target)
  4. Zulu by NARS – This color is a very dark (almost black) green. It makes me think of dirty money! I’ve never seen a green quite like this, which is why I paid so much for it. ($16, Lord & Taylor)
  5. Sticky Base Coat by Creative Nail Design – As mentioned in one of my previous posts, this base coat is supposed to prevent peeling and chipping. The verdict is still out on this one, but I will definitely let you guys know how I like it and if it actually works! ($9, Ulta)
  • Mac Mineralized Skinfinish in Deep Dark – Because I don’t particularly care for foundation and I don’t need a lot of coverage on my face, this mineralized powder makes my skin appear even without looking too caky or too made up. Loves it! ($27, Mac Cosmetics)
  • Framboise Attraction 3 Blush by Sephora – This is the first blush I’ve ever tried and I am loving it! It is a very subtle pink blush that adds just enough color to my face without looking overdone. ($12, Sephora)
  • The Falsies Volum’ Express by Maybelline – While I love expensive mascaras, the fact remains that drug store mascaras are just as good if not better! I love Falsies, Million Lashes and Voluminous Mascaras so I rotate all three. ($5, Target)
  • Lipsticks – I just recently started wearing lipstick. I am normally a gloss girl, but since I discovered that Mac has a “Back to MAC program,” I’ve been returning my six empty Mac containers in exchange for free lipsticks. Here are my two newest ones:
  1. Girl About Town Lipstick from Mac – Very pretty fuchsia color.  (Free with 6 empty containers, Mac Cosmetics)
  2. Myth Lipstick from Mac – Myth is somewhat of a pale beige that is perfect for a nude lip. ($14.50, Mac Cosmetics)
  • Mac Select Cover-Up Concealer – I have a few dark spots on my face that I like to “conceal” prior to putting my Mineralized Skinfinish powder on so I use this concealer to do so. ($16.50, Mac Cosmetics)
  • Mac Dazzleglass Lip Gloss – Since I’ve already dedicated an entire post to dazzleglass, I won’t go into too many details about it here. I will just tell you which ones I purchased recently: Boy Bait, Like Venus and Date Night. ($19 each, Mac Cosmetics)

If you all decide to try any of the products mentioned above, please be sure to email me at clutchez@gmail.com and let me know how they work for you. Gracias!!! XOXO
