Try This: Beyonce’s Inauguration Mani

Inauguration Nails Bey

I see that Bey is becoming quite a trendsetter when it comes to nail polish. When I saw her wearing Baker Street from Nails Inc. I had to have it. And here is another must have color that I need in my life. While she sang the national anthem at President Barack Obama’s Inauguration Ceremony here in DC earlier this week, I couldn’t help but notice her gorgeous redish-tangerine nails!

As I have said a million times in the past couple of weeks, red is my thing right now, and Bey is giving me life with this color in “I’m With The Band” from NCLA, a LA based nail polish line that is infamous for their bold nail polishes and even bolder nail wraps. You can find out more about this color as well as the brand at www.shopncla.com.

But you know I found a duplicate for this color, right? In actuality, when I googled “I’m With The Band,” the swatches didn’t quite look as bright as the color looks in the picture above. Well, I also follow Color Club on Facebook, and they have a similar color, which I think is a bit brighter (and much more afforadable) than “I’m With The Band.” The colors aren’t exactly the same, but I think Color Club’s Lava Lamp is more my type of color. But depending on your taste, you may like one more than the other…I think either option is gorge!

So what do you think of Bey’s manicure? Would you try this color? Are there any other celeb manis that you would like to duplicate?

Baker Street – Nails Inc.

This is my second Nails Inc. nail polish purchase and I am very pleased with it. Not only is the formula incredibly easy to work with it, but the color is fully opaque with just one coat. You all may remember a few months back when Beyonce was sporting this amazing, vibrant blue mani, which I’ve pictured below…Well, I had immediately put this color on my wish list and was finally able to snag it yesterday at the Sephora in Chicago. Sidenote: There will be more on the other fabulous things I found in the Chi, but as for now, back to Baker Street:

I had seen some swatches and wasn’t sure if Baker Street was going to be bright enough for me. Well, it is! It looks just as amazing, if not better, in person. The pictures below really don’t capture the color in all its glory but these swatches will due:

What do you think about Baker Street? Will you be running to your local Sephora to pick it up?? Enjoy! XOXO

Follow Me on Glitter

Today’s Confession: I have an entire list of nail polishes that I want to try saved on my iPhone…There, I said it!

Usually when I see a polish on a nail blog or even on a person, I write down the name and brand so that I can search for it later. Here are some polishes that I’ve been wanting to try, all of which have been on my list (with the exception of Follow Me on Glitter, which one of my girlfriends gave me):

From Left to Right: Orly - Oh Cabana Boy, Nicole by OPI - Follow Me on Glitter, Essie - Trophy Wife, Revlon - Facets of Fuchsia, Essie - Geranium, Nails Inc. - Whitehall, Essie - A Cut Above, Essie - Shine of the Times, Shine of the Times on top of Bailamos, Orly - Bailamos

I’ve mentioned a few of these colors in recent posts, but I wanted to make sure I provided swatches for them all.

There are still a few brands that I really want to try like Models Own, Kleancolor, Nfu Oh, Zoya, Deborah Lippman, Illamasqua, Chanel and Butter London…Anywhoo, enjoy! XOXO

Try This: Magnetic Nail Polish

I went to Sephora last night and was finally able to purchase the Magnetic Nail Polish by Nails Inc. I purchased it in Whitehall, which is the greenish teal shade. It also comes in Trafalgar Square (metallic grey) and Houses of Parliament (purple). I haven’t decided if I want to purchase the rest of them yet, but after trying this shade I am definitely considering it…

It’s $16 for one bottle, but Sephora is selling all three colors for $30 so it just may be worth it to buy them all at once! The design is very pretty, and if done properly looks very professional. All you have to do is apply one coat of polish to all of your nails. Then you must apply a second coat of polish on each nail, and immediately place the magnet (which is built into the cap of the nail polish) over your freshly painted nail. It only takes seconds for the design to appear. You should notice though that my middle finger design isn’t as pronounced as the rest, so it is possible for the patterns to differ for each nail. You gotta be precise folks! I enjoyed doing it though…You should try it out as  I think it is worth the $16 they are charging for it…Check out a video below on how it’s done:
