Nails for the Day: Purple Panic

For whatever reason, I am obsessed with blues and pinks this summer. Purple Panic is one of my favorite colors from China Glaze’s Ink Art Collection. Be sure to check it out the next time you are in Ulta, Sally’s Beauty Supply or shopping for polishes online…

She’Luxe Couture!!! LOVES IT!!

When you can’t find accessories that define your style, make them yourself!! That is what the owners of She’Luxe Couture have done. Their unique sense of style permeates through their handmade pieces, and offers us a range of looks to choose from.

I am currently contemplating which ones I want to purchase, but its such a hard decision, as they have so many hot pieces!! Here are some of my favorite looks from them:

You must cop at least one of their pieces to add to your accessory closet. The price points are amazing!! Their earrings range from about $25-$60, which is quite reasonable considering the originality of each piece. They are currently having an online sale so be sure to take advantage!!

You can access these fabulous earrings and more online at http://www.sheluxecouture.com. Also be sure to like them on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/SheluxeCouture and follow them on Twitter @SheLuxeCouture.

Quick Post: Feather Earrings from Urban Outfitters

I was in Urban Outfitters in Chinatown yesterday (Washington, D.C.) and instead of buying this $80 top that I adored, I purchased these feather earrings that were much cheaper!

I’ve been looking for some fab feather earrings for quite some time now. However, all the feather earrings I come across are way too over the top. These are a bit understated but I’m sure they won’t get lost in my tresses…loves them!!!

Nails for the Day: Turquoise & Caicos (Essie)

I have been looking for this color for a couple of weeks and I finally found it in Ulta. I’ve purchased other mint green colors, but this one is perfect. It has more of a blue tint to it, which goes better with my skin tone. I had to apply multiple coats (three) to achieve this look. However, I think this particular polish is well worth the price ($8). Check it out below:

Loves it!!!!

15 Bare Accessory Essentials!!

The following are items that every woman must have in her accessory closet. I actually tried come up with a list of ten must have accessories, but I felt like I was leaving out some vital pieces. You don’t have to buy all these items at once…these are pieces that you can add to your wardrobe over time. However, if you stumble upon some bargains on items you don’t own, then seize the moment…carpe diem!! Of course you can own more than one of each, but if you’re starting from scratch, here is a list of the my Bare Accessory Essentials:

  1. Everyday Handbag
  2. A Pair of Chic Sunglasses
  3. A Pair of Fabulous Earrings
  4. An Eye Catching Scarf
  5. Nail Polish (If you aren’t into painting your nails, that’s okay!)
  6. A Pair of Flat Shoes
  7. A Clutch
  8. A Pair of Stud Earrings
  9. A Timepiece
  10. A Statement Necklace
  11. A Pair of High Heel Shoes (Sandals/Pumps/Peep Toe)
  12. A Cocktail Ring
  13. A Belt
  14. A Pair of Winter Boots
  15. A Bracelet/Bangle

Bonus Essential: Make-Up – Your face doesn’t have to be totally made up on a daily basis, but at least groom your eyebrows and throw on some chapstick or lip gloss! Also make sure that your skin is clear and moisturize…it makes a huge difference!

Final Note: Be sure not to fill your closet with a bunch of expensive, trendy junk…you want the majority of the things in your accessory closet to be items that you can mix-n-match and recreate as time goes on. Obviously, not everything in your closet will last a life time, but you will want these items to at least last you a couple of seasons.

Happy Shopping!! Muah!! XOXO

Style Icon Alert: June Ambrose

The infamous stylist, June Ambrose, specializes in being effortlessly fab and I am loving it!!! I am always curious to see what she will be rocking with her signature red matte lipstick, unique turbans, and chic sunglasses. Her accessories are always on point. She doesn’t seem to be big on earrings as she is always wearing studs. Necklaces, bracelets, and timepieces seem to be her jewelry of choice. When she isn’t rocking a turban, her tresses are usually in long, black, loose spiral curls.

Although her style can be a little over the top at times, she knows when to tone it down. It is obvious that she doesn’t shy away from statement pieces, but she believes that women should have wearable pieces in their closets that include things that they really admire…things that are timeless and classic.

If you’ve been craving her signature turban look I am excited to inform you that she has come out with her own line of turbans.  Check it out at http://juneambrose.bigcartel.com/. Don’t get it twisted though…these turbans do not come cheap!
